I can do this as I deliver a very high standard to the client, and I'm not constrained by knowledge that things not possible. If take Carpetbarn Hamilton, I transformed the business, improving the efficiency. In 1993 they had 18 staff at Te Rapa, were losing lots of money. Over the next ~10 years turnover was increased to over 20x (built on reduced errors, efficiency, improved customer service, product development), done with 1/3 the staff. ie 60x improvements. With the improvements, profitability improved to ~20% net profit - unheard of profitability. Given the labour savings alone, the profit becomes understandable. Factor in ~8000 job losses in the NZ flooring industry during those years, those were tough days. When someone thinks something is not possible, its generally they just they dont understand the situation. NEC (Norman Ellison Carpets) in Onehunga had their mushroom software developed in Australia. Interesting how my spelling errors turned up on the mushroom software forms. NEC had a working copy of my software as part of making Caird Carpet Mills a success, where we built Caird from nothing to over $10mil PA sales in 18 months. They may not have been able to see the code, but they could copy the forms and how the forms were used, including my poor spelling, for design direction.I tackle the complex like others tackle the first coffee in the morning.
