Utilizing a variety of communication methods and media, I guide future students from DBU prospects to Patriots!I serve out-of-state prospective students from across the United States. As a part of a team, I work with my peers to meet department goals through excellent service, communication, and personal networking. I actively work to share why higher education is a valuable investment in the person, not just a career.

I work to directly support the Senior VP in his role as he oversees Administrative Affairs, Athletics, Marketing, and Enrollment. I am tasked with various research and administrative items to further represent the University well. I am entrusted with confidential university items and expected to ensure the best interests of the institution are preserved. I also support various initiatives designed to bolster enrollment and retention at the University.In addition, I carry out various procurement initiatives from the development stage, through negotiations with vendors, to their completion. One particular project I spearheaded was a retail procurement initiative. With this project, I was responsible for the procurement, inventory tracking, implementation of prices, and some customer-facing functions. Thanks to the assistance of several of my team members, the project was a great success in bringing quality products to customers and revenue to the University.Working in this capacity has exposed me to various industries ranging from construction and public safety to marketing, athletics, and public relations. This has allowed me to become familiar with industry norms, vernacular, and practices in these industry within the context of higher education. Throughout working in these various facets, I have been able to hone my professional skills and directly apply what I learn in the classroom. I have gained valuable experience in this role. I have been able to learn by being challenged to perform at a high level in situations in which I did not feel qualified and was able to achieve success and even take on leadership roles in various projects.

In this department, I constantly had to think critically and follow standard operating procedures while providing an engaging, satisfactory customer experience. I safely cleared and secured firearms for repair in store. Pitching Club credit card applications as well as insurance policies on particular items were a part of my sales and retail experience at Bass Pro Shops.
