I spent 5 years working as a Coach Driver on the ‘Airline’ service that serves Gatwick and Heathrow from Oxford. Showing great versatility, I had driven all the company routes, giving me good experience of many types of bus/coach and driving in Oxford and London.

As a fully qualified Driving Instructor, I was self-employed working as a Franchisee under the Safeway UK umbrella.

Worked on a six month contract to plan and manage Customer orders through manufacturing to meet delivery requirements. This entailed being the point of contact for my allocated products, managing internal Customer calls, dealing with expedites and checking Customer forecasts and inventory. Building up on my understanding of MRP whilst using SAP, I needed to show strong customer skills and a professional email and telephone manner in order to be a team player here. Before the six months were up, Tyco offered me a full-time job but I had already trained up for my next job as a Driving Instructor.

Similar role & responsibilities as previous position but working within a team and for the whole company. Responsible for planning & implementing a major warehouse consolidation. Other duties included;Planning Support - Setting up/implementation of new business; create and maintain work instructions/databases/planning documentation etc; overseeing implementation of car model start-ups/run-outs and associate training; capture and analysis of data to provide throughput information. Stock Control - Honda stock queries and counts, internal cyclic counting; supplier stock queries and counts, overseeing and resolving stock shortages; controlling quality problems; identifying unlabelled parts.Supplier Liaison – Responding and managing daily Supplier communications; arranging & overseeing additional transport/job requests; setting up & maintenance of files and control spreadsheets. Operations Support - Investigation and countermeasure into operations problems; create monthly TQM reports; office & warehouse support; representing SDC & attending HUM/Supplier meetings.

Promoted to new position responsible for setting-up and maintaining new external customer business. Duties very much as above position for Logistics Planner.

Promoted to take charge of 20 person strong team, responsible for being the frontline operations link between SDC & Honda Material Logistics department and ensuring that other SDC sections were achieving and maintaining their targets. With overall responsibility to ensure and coordinate that Honda received the correct parts, in the right place and at the right time.

Promoted to take charge of a 9 person strong team and meet challenging daily targets as required by Honda to fulfil car production targets. Dealing with visiting Suppliers and quality issues.

Responsible for sorting & returning Honda Suppliers empty packaging, processing Honda part pick lists.
