In my professional career I have spent 6 years so far in the service industry. First as a busser/barback, and later on as a bartender. During that time I obtained my degree in Communications at SFU in order to pursue my dream of someday writing professionally. While working in bars and restaurants I obtained many valuable skills that, along with those l learned at SFU, have made me ready for a job in my desired field. Those skills, most importantly of which are, organization, teamwork, meeting a deadline, and of course a multitudes of different modes of writing from academic to creative. Although I have never had a job outside of the service industry before, I feel very confident dealing with all kinds of people, I have no insecurities about my aptitude as a writer, and the need to be constantly flexible in the service industry has made me ready for any kind of future role/problem that may come my way.
