I cut my architectural milk-teeth on carports and residential extensions. Then moving to new houses, I also ventured into aged care and education. Schools - pre-school, primary and secondary - kept me happily busy for many years - with the occasional retail and office project thrown. And some bars and nightclubs and holiday resorts!For 10 years at SKM / Jacobs I worked solidly in the public sector - Department of Defence, Air Services Australia, Port of Melbourne, Department of Agriculture (quarantine and containment), universities, justice departments, water and power authorities, and public transport (PTV and MTM, rail and railway infrastructure). This work included brief formulation, project scoping, master planning, project programming, preliminary through to detailed design, construction documentation, specifications, scheduling, technical reporting, construction phase services and post-occupancy evaluation. Through-out this personal passions have been complex technical problem solving, interdisciplinary co-ordination and quality assurance. With my new role at Aurecon, many of the chickens nurtured over the years have returned to roost. In Program Advisory I will be working within the Aurecon Team to provide assurance services to the Victorian School Buildings Authority - back into a sector that I enjoyed for many years.
