After placing top three in the 2012 Intuit IdeaJam, my team of four was hired to create, design, and present an innovative mobile app to revolutionize small business transactions in collaboration with Intuit’s own product managers. Following the Lean Startup model, we worked under a rapid iteration schedule, gathering market research and constantly analyzing consumer pains. We consumer tested our product through multiple stages of wire framing and high fidelity digital mock-ups to perfect our user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design. To conclude our internship, we pitched our final designs, revenue projections, and scaling strategy to Intuit executives.

I started, managed, and promoted an independent business with a partner specializing in web development, photography, and graphic design for businesses and individuals. I conducted extensive market research, pitched potential customers, coordinated client calls and meetings, and customized work to fit specific needs. My specialization was in front-end web design, professional photography, and digital graphics.

With the CORE Environmental Foundation, I advised Directors on marketing and recruitment matters, assisted with presentations, speaking events, publicity, and membership, and performed administrative duties within the CORE Headquarters. As a CORE Environmental representative, I worked with California State Assemblymen on various collaborations and initiatives to support legislation for California’s environmental protection.

At the Gladstone Institutes, I worked under UCSF staff in Dr. Bruce Conklin’s Cardiovascular Disease lab. I ran a wide variety of tests and procedures on human and animal pluripotent stem cells and led my own independent experiments in my third and fourth years. In addition to preparing and performing experiments for scientists in the laboratory, I completed assignments for researchers in the technology lab. This work included software interface usability testing, maintenance, bug finding, and troubleshooting errors in the WikiPathways biological pathway project.
