- Designed realtime data streaming platform that is sport agnostic but would provide both deep analytical abilities from Hadoop and real time analytics from Apache Storm.- Implemented configuration management across our systems using Ansible and Powershell scripting to cover Windows, Linux and OSX systems.- Managed realtime monitoring using Prassler PRTG and realtime log monitoring using ELK and Graylog stacks.- Maintained petabyte sized tape library for archival data. Implemented data lifecycle management for all types of company data, including business and operations data.

- Successfully moved a 80+ person office to a brand new office location. Designed a new network infrastructure with 10Gb backbone, 802.11ac wireless networking and all IP based phone system.- Designed and created a Hyper-V virtualization cluster with a off-site replication partner system for failover in disaster recovery scenarios.- Maintained automated build system that used Jenkins and SVN code repository and provided software building capability on Linux, OSX and Windows systems.- Installed and built production ready co-located data center for providing real time data to clients via traditional database access and proprietary data streams for clients.- Managed cloud infrastructure based on Amazon Web Services that provided realtime data for motorsports, baseball and football clients, including traditional database access, real time streaming data to thousands of mobile clients each week, and historical video data from on-premises venues to clients.- Implemented a scale out NAS solution for the storage of raw uncompressed video, and other company data, as well as providing backend storage for other services such as FTP and SVN data.- Maintained VPN connected network with multiple sites and datacenters, including a mobile datacenter on wheels. Managed and maintained multiple uplinks including traditional landline connectivity, VSAT satellite uplinks and wireless WAN connectivity to ensure mobile datacenter had connectivity anywhere in the United States.

• Systems and Network administrator for 100+ person office. Managed 50+ servers including Linux (Ubuntu, Redhat, CentOS), Windows (Server 2003/2008) and Mac OS X Server (10.6). • Performed datacenter consolidation project reducing overall power/heat footprint at two datacenters, documenting and cleaning up network, server and power cabling allowing for easier maintenance. Migrated physical servers to virtualized platform on VMWare Vcenter 4/5.• Migrated staff from in-house hosting deprecated Zimbra mail system to cloud-hosted Google Apps solution with single sign on (SSO), Active Directory synchronization and complete migration of e-mail and calendars for all users over 3 month project period.• Created multi-site monitoring solution to monitor systems, network connections and cloud services in Amazon Web Services and physical data centers. Items such as uptime, latency, resource usage and environmental metrics were monitored in real time and stored for historical analysis and future capacity planning based upon actual usage.• Centralized logging of all servers, network devices, firewall logs and web logs which were then indexed into a central database. Logs were indexed could then be searched to look for security events and greatly simplified troubleshooting problems as they arised.• Deployed automatic server deployment of Linux CentOS servers via Spacewalk/Cobbler server. Automatic package management for all CentOS servers via centralized package repository. • Maintained private cloud infrastructure for web sites reaching up to 2 million requests per day. Migrated infrastructure into Amazon Web Services. Setup point to point VPN services to allow easy secure access to web development and production systems to staff developers on site.

Network Administrator providing Windows, Netware and Linux server administration and user support to 150-300 legislators and staff.• Built from scratch a Linux/Nagios based monitoring system that provides instant alerts via e-mail/SMS/RSS and visual/audible notifications to IT staff. System also creates automated reports to staff and managers on system uptime and availability. • Successfully planned and implemented a division-wide roll out of Microsoft Office 2007.• Successfully planned, procured, implemented and maintained a help desk ticketing system for IT staff. All support calls and requests are now logged and documented, and support fixes and changes are documented in a knowledge base.• Helped design and implement a virtualization platform based on Citrix Xenserver. Also built and maintained a test environment for IT staff and other users for testing DNS, DHCP, 802.1x, RADIUS and other server/service deployments• Currently working on branch-wide deployment of Active Directory, SCCM and Windows 7.

Fukui Prefecture Board of Education Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture -Helped teach English as a foreign language to 1st year Japanese students; prepared curriculum materials and lesson plans including handouts, tests, assignments, and syllabi for 10 classes of High School students, with an average of 35 students per class.

Provided IT technical support and consultation to small and medium-sized businesses in Southwest Montana.  Performed desktop and server support for Windows 2003 and Linux server environments, network consultation and installation/setup, remote server monitoring and maintenance, on/off-site backup services, and administration of Outlook/Exchange based e-mail service for clients. Overhauled all customer documentation into a standardized document and format.  Implemented fault-tolerant VMware virtual server farm for a medium-sized client.  Set-up and installed a remote server monitoring system, office cell phones, e-mail synchronization, and inter-office messaging services (IM). Installed both VMWare and Citrix XenServer virtualization environments.
