Grant has over 20 years of commercial and technical experience in the energy sector. Grant was appointed President & CEO of BluEarth in July 2015. Prior to this appointment, he was Chief Operating Officer responsible for development, construction and operations of the company’s wind, solar and hydroelectric projects, and VP of Business Development playing a key role in securing approximately $600 million of development assets. Prior to joining BluEarth in 2011, Grant held several leadership roles in the renewable energy and natural gas business units at Suncor Energy. Most recently he was responsible for overseeing their Canadian wind power portfolio, including, at the time, joint venture interests in 147 MW in operation, 108 MW under construction and over 500 MW in development. Grant’s considerable experience in the asset lifecycle includes engineering design, environmental impact assessments, stakeholder relations, project management, regulatory approvals, construction and operations in Canada and internationally. Grant holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Engineering from the University of Alberta, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Calgary. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.BluEarth targets both the acquisition and development of greenfield renewable energy projects and operating facilities.
