Lead Transcreation Account Manager

Tag

New York, New York

After a year and half, I shifted focus to the Medical and Pharmaceutical fields and became the Lead Account manager for four separate clients: Bristol-Myers Squibb, Alcon Novartis, Pfizer Inc., and Isagenix International. I was entrusted to lead a team of project managers that curated print copy translations for clinical trials, brochures, inserts, treatment journals, flyers and internal human resources communication. With a workload of over 20+ active projects a month (all of which are translated into multiple markets), organization plays a huge factor in campaign management. I increased my account management knowledge by curating process documents and accounting details for each client. The inclusion of weekly calls with clients ensured unanimity and consistency throughout campaigns. I then distributed projects to my team members based on capacity and project volume, all while ensuring they had a point of escalation when needed. As we were dealing with medically related content, it was very important to have a strong background in quality control and proofreading (all of which is meticulously reviewed before approval and print). The checks and balances we adhered to allowed us to invoice over $1,000,000+ in translation work alone over the past 2 years for these four accounts.

Transcreation is a form of translation that takes into account cultural nuances while upholding the original content and style. As a Transcreation Executive and project manager, I was in charge of hiring freelance linguist’s to accomplish this through various mediums such as Ecommerce website copy, print collateral, out of home marketing material, on-screen typesetting and video voice over direction.During my first year and half, I handled a workload of over 150+ projects. The three main accounts I worked for initially consisted of two LS and Co. subdivisions (Levi’s and Dockers) and the Hilton HHonors program. This gave me an opportunity to experience the marketing production side of advertising, specifically for the consumer retail and hospitality sectors. My daily tasks consisted of client communication, project cost estimating, freelance linguist hiring, production management, quality control, and account metrics.I was also fortunate to have the opportunity to work on various other accounts that ranged from consumer goods and technology to logistics and cosmetics. These brands included: DHL, Diageo, Anomaly, Tom Ford Beauty, Estée Lauder, Clinique, iRobot, Unilever, Uniqlo, Machine Zone, BzzAgent, Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. (BBH), and WSP Germany.

My main tasks at the Lemon Bar revolved around the implementation and creation of the POS (POSLAVU) system. This particular system not only served as a device for taking customer orders, it also gave our company the ability to meticulously keep track of accounting and profitability related statistics for inventory. All data was then recorded and utilized for future purchasing.Using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, I also designed the entire creative layout for the menu, in addition to outdoor advertisements for the grand opening and table top marquees for upcoming events. Marketing Communications Intern

Active Life, Inc.

Austin, Texas Area

Interning with ACTIVE Life, Inc. gave me the opportunity to witness first-hand the differences between a non-profit organization and traditional advertising agency. My main tasks revolved around copy origination for the ACTIVE Life website to ensure better functionality and readability for the user. A multitude of changes were made, including a singular font selection and layout arrangement for imagery, all to merit a more professional and marketable layout. We also chose to implement several grass-root tactics through ACTIVE Life’s newly created Ambassador Program. This was done in order for us to gain social media exposure and Word-of-Mouth publicity through Facebook and Twitter. The particular program was led by devoted individuals that were entrenched within specific sectors of the Austin community and believed in our companies objectives and goals (particularly with after school programs for children). They would host anything from weekend runs to various sporting activities on behalf of our organization.

Advertising Integrated Communications Campaign

Austin, Texas Area

At The University of Texas at Austin, our capstone class was entrusted with generating an RFP for Red Mango Frozen Yogurt and Smoothies. I personally created the layout and design for our fully-functional plansbook. This allowed our client to have full documentation of our teams proposed marketing, advertising, media, and public relations recommendations for the upcoming quarter. We devised an operating budget complete with flow charts and break downs of each suggested category. Our promotional renderings where compiled through Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop and then pitched to the corporate office. The entire process required the team to execute primary and secondary research while conducting analysis through Qualtrics survey software, SPSS statistical analysis program, focus groups, andobservational review. We then devised a strategic media plan by determining geographic markets and competitors, constructing a media menu, budget allocation, and organizational flowchart.
