In addition to standard operations tasks, my new responsibilities include hiring, training, and managing student crew of 12-20 undergraduates. Tasks also now include pre-test facility preparations, ensuring tests are conducted as requested by customers, implementation of auxiliary data reduction processes (VisualBASIC & MATLAB) and data acquisition systems (LabVIEW), and end of test checks (final data and test reporting). Position involves direct contact with all customers during all phases of wind tunnel test campaigns, requiring professional and technical communication.Hours worked have been 15-20 hours per week during each academic year and 40-50 per week during the summers of 2016 & 2017.
Student Engineer
As Student Engineer, I worked with the team of other Crew Members to perform aerodynamic tests for customers. Operations tasks included data acquisition (primarily LabVIEW), model installation, wind tunnel facility maintenance & operation, and machine shop work. Other projects involved test reporting, writing & troubleshooting Visual Basic code, CAD (SOLIDWORKS), and data reduction. Data acquisition includes installation, calibration, and programming of electronic pressure scanning systems, strain gauge-based hinge moment measurements, and other instrumentation. In winter, 2017, I was also the tunnel's technical point of contact before and during a leading defense contractor's 4-week test program.

Primary launch vehicle will be entered into the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) in June, 2019.Responsibilities include technical oversight of all launch vehicle subsystems, coordinating new member recruitment (via application process) & mentorship, leadership development for subteam & project leads, and professional & technical development for all team members.

Led team of ~8 other students within the Structures subteam. Oversaw redesign of fin/body tube integration, fin geometry optimization analysis, wind tunnel test campaign, and component manufacturing. Manufacturing included standard metal machining & carbon fiber layups. Responsibilities as lead included maintaining project schedule & budget, reporting to subteam leads, and ensuring integration with other relevant component projects (e.g., combustion chamber).

Responsible for overall project management for team of over 100 undergraduates designing and building hybrid sounding rocket with target altitude of 30,000 ft AGL. Rocket was flown in the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) in June, 2018 at Spaceport America in New Mexico, where we brought home the 1st place trophy in our division (30k student-developed hybrid/liquid motor).
