I love to work with numbers. No matter what the values are I have always found a love for working with them. I have been working with numbers whether it be in my math classes, my economics classes, my accounting classes, or my time working for small business, and through all of these experiences, I truly enjoyed using numbers to solve my problems.In regards to using numbers to solve problems, I remember when I was a kid and started to do my first “budget,” it was very rudimentary, but I still remember it perfectly. I was 8 at the time and my dad had given me 20 dollars to spend at Target. In my mind I needed to maximize the amount of fun from the money, because I had no clue when an opportunity like this would happen again. I went through the list of the things that I had wanted and weighed them on how much I liked them. From there I made a list and allocated my money to the three main things I wanted, toys, candy, and trading cards. Ever since that day when I did my first “budget,” and really used numbers to solve a problem I was having, I fell in love with working with numbers in regard to business.From this experience I have been able to carry my love for business and numbers to my education. So far I have an associates in arts degree from Clark College in Business Administration, and I am continuing on a path to get my Bachelors in Accounting from Arizona State University, and then take that to graduate school and get my masters and then sit for my CPA. I have also been using my skills in problem solving in my short career in the workforce. For a small real estate firm based in Spokane, Washington I have done work in the field in which I had a given budget to get the tools required for the job, usually the job being cleaning out and revitalizing trashed and destroyed homes. I have also worked within a budget for my time working for a small interior design company known as NOOK Interiors, L.L.C. For this company I was given a budget and was to work within said budget to equip their offices with powerful computers so that they could work more effectively on their designs. Overall, my love for numbers has led me to the field of business which I have begun to love as well. So far my passion for problem solving has helped propel me into new and interesting jobs at different kinds of places, and I am excited to see where numbers will bring me next.
