I lead Cloud Operations globally for Sitecore. Cloud engineering teams reported to me from 3 regions and 6 countries providing 24/7/365 coverage to the platforms running Sitecore’s expanding cloud portfolio. Sitecore’s flagship “Managed Cloud” product encompasses hundreds of Azure Subscriptions running the distributed Sitecore stamp of technology (various Azure application services including Azure SQL, Web Apps, Solr, Redis Cache, Azure Kubernetes Services, Ansible, Terraform, etc). I steered strategic improvements to operations such as expanded automation, optimized instrumentation for performance, infosec posture for cloud security, and high availability implementation patterns for customer stability and resiliency. I coordinated training activities for the various teams through each regional leader including high-fidelity drills to exercise SRE activities and runbooks for key events like service failures and performance bottlenecks. I cooperated with back office teams to expand cloud services in scalable directions to meet shifting market demand and show continuous value to customers.

My role included maintaining support SLAs and escalation assistance for complicated cloud and Sitecore application scenarios. I coached our team on best practices for Sitecore and software performance, Azure cloud architectures, distributed system stability, and consulted directly with the highest profile customers to ensure their overall success with the platform. I coordinated with many back-office development teams to ensure product features and patches were prioritized and delivered to a high standard. I worked with the Sitecore teams to strategically expand our services portfolio to meet market demand while balancing the scalability of our 24/7 support model. I worked with our compliance and legal teams to provide SOC and ISO evidence for key cloud product certifications.

I led a team of 12 developers working on various products targeting the behavioural health care market (web and mobile).Besides team leadership responsibilities, I developed for their core web product (Microsoft development stack: IIS with .Net to SQL Server), lots of web service integration work with industry partners like Surescripts, Emdeon, Twillio and others (ajax, asynchronous calls, with XML or HL7, etc). I also contributed to their mobile products (jquery mobile targeting IOS, Android, and Google Chrome).
