Precept Wine is the largest privately owned wine company in the Northwest with its own vineyards, wineries, sales and marketing team, and tasting rooms. Currently I handle almost all of our state and federal liquor taxes. This involves preparing and filing our tax returns in each state, providing reviews of our activity for our director of operations, researching laws and regulations as necessary, and occasional support for other teams.

My first position at Precept was working with accounts receivable to establish a standard collections process, which which helped to improve company cashflow considerably, reducing the total overdue balance owed to the company by approximately 50%. I improved the invoicing procedure and leveraged my technical skills to write simple PDF manipulating scripts that saved upward of 10 hours per week and are still used by that team years later. I subsequently stepped in to assist the accounts payable team, where I helped to document and improve existing processes.

Ophrys, LLC is a leader in the asset and debt management industry that acquires and manages portfolios of consumer receivables as well as provides technical support to automated litigation or collection of those portfolios.I managed the unsecured bankruptcy group, supervising eight employees and hundreds of court filings daily. I was responsible for reviewing and approving claims and overseeing the timely filing of both the claims themselves as well as any necessary responses, followup to opposing counsel or the court, and escalation as needed. I also provided internal auditing for multiple teams on issues of quality, performance, and compliance. My tenacity in identifying and helping to mitigate or solve problems regardless of the team responsible earned me a reputation for reliability throughout the company.

I prepared documents and new templates for upcoming projects with attorney supervision. As needed by other teams within production, I was called in to provided support for projects experiencing high volume or especially tight time constraints.

Noon International is a trading company specializing in the export of frozen and canned food to Japan.I coordinated shipments between factories, truckers, shipping lines, and customers. I prepared invoicing and documentation for customers and acted as liaison for customers, communicating in Japanese and English.

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program is a Japanese government initiative that brings college graduates from around the world to Japan as Assistant Language Teachers in Japanese schools.Planned and executed classes and presentations in Japanese and English. Participated in cultural and community events whenever possible, created lesson plans for elective classes and led a few teacher workshops. After returning from Japan, I served as a board member of the Pacific Northwest JET Alumni Association board Currently as media coordinator for several years.
