The Gartner Research Circle is an online research community for IT and business leaders. Members have the opportunity to voice their opinions and connect on a variety of topics such as industry trends, key initiatives, and Gartner product and service concepts.

Currently working in the Cyber and Information Security Division (CISD) within the Security Branch. I serve as a subject matter expert assisting in developing strategies and other related resources to further enhance the Agency's Governance Risk and Compliance program including Operational & Cyber Resilience, and Enterprise Security Assurance.

Crisis Response Journal is the international publication focusing on response, resilience, continuity and security issues arising from large scale natural hazards and human caused disasters, emergencies, terrorism and other threats to lives, communities and livelihoods.The aim is to bring agencies, disciplines and nations – as well as the private and public sectors – together in order to increase the understanding of their different roles and perspectives, thereby improving a unified response to large scale crises.The journal is read by senior members, commanders and leaders from the emergency services, police, military, business, local and national government officers, critical infrastructure providers, emergency planners and academics.

I have been working on WG 9 to develop the forthcoming ISO/DIS 22361: Crisis management — Guidelines for a strategic capability since 2019.In the Fall of 2021, I joined WG 2 to begin working on the ISO/AWI 22336: Organizational resilience — Resilience policy formulation and strategy implementation.

The Security Partners' Forum (SPF) is an international not-for-profit agile network comprised of security-related associations, educators and other seasoned professionals who have come together to develop a framework that promotes open communication and dialogue across all security and related domains. The SPF also comprises several sub-networks including the Canadian Security Partners' Forum (CSPF); the Canadian Security Executive Forum (CSEF); the Canadian Cybersecurity Alliance (CCA); the Women in Security & Resilience Alliance (WISECRA) and the International Network of Security & Resilience Educators (INSRE).

The Canadian Who's Who is a reference publication published and distributed annually that contains concise biographical information about 13,000 notable Canadians. Biographies are chosen on merit alone. Those listed are selected because of the positions they hold in Canadian society, or because of the contribution they have made to life in Canada. Included are outstanding Canadians from business, academia, politics, sports, the arts, and sciences.The Canadian Who’s Who Editorial Board consists of members from the following sectors across Canada:Media;Business;Academia;Public Sector;Arts, Culture & Entertainment; andLaw & Justice.Roles & Responsibilities of the Editorial Board include:1. Reviewing and identifying the list of potential new candidates to be included in the new edition and people to be archived ahead of the annual meeting.2. Attending the annual meeting to approve the list of candidates being added and listees being archived; and3. Suggesting changes to guidelines and policies for people to be included or archived.

I currently serve as a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Business Continuity & Emergency Planning, which is the leading professional journal publishing peer-reviewed articles and case studies by expert business continuity and emergency managers. In 2016 I began serving as a member of the Editorial Board for the new Cyber Security: A Peer-Reviewed Journal. The inaugural issue is scheduled for publication March 2017. It will showcase the latest thinking and best practices in cyber security, cyber resilience, cyber crime and cyber warfare, drawing on practical experience in national critical infrastructure, government, corporate, finance, military and not-for-profit sectors.

I returned to Corporate Security on a short-term basis in November 2022 to take on the following projects:-Align the IRCC Crisis Management Program with the new ISO 22361 - Crisis Management Standard published October 2022;-Develop Security Accountability Checklist for Managers;-Update IRCC Security Policy Suite; and-Develop the IRCC Insider Risk program.

Current responsibilities relate to working on various projects & initiatives that ultimately contribute to IRCC National Security and Intelligence related activities.

I developed the IRCC Cyber Security Strategy. Additional responsibilities for this position included feeding into the Departmental Security Plan, and contributing to the new Security Convergence program I developed before moving to this new role.

Was engaged in a variety of files, initiatives and projects related to the IRCC Departmental Security Program including but not limited to organizational resilience, security convergence, business continuity, emergency management, crisis management, armed intruder program, departmental security plan and security policies, directives and standards development.

The Global Security Influencer of the Year award will be chosen between the winners of the five security categories (not including the ‘One to Watch’ award) that make up the IFSEC Global Influencers process each year. A final round of judging will be undertaken by an independent group of judges following the publication of the full list of Influencers in the summer.

My primary tasks in this role were to appoint a diverse range of respected industry experts and thought leaders to the panel of judges and them coordinate the nominations & judging process.Worked with the IFSEC team to refine the nomination process and create new nomination categories such as the "Security Executive" category for the CSO/CISO (and related communities), and most recently the "Resilience" category for those operating in BCM, EM, CIP, Organizational Resilience (and other related disciplines.

Part of the Advisory Council supporting the launch of the ISRM - scheduled for end of February / early March 2019. The Institute of Strategic Risk Management has been established in order to create a global centre where practitioners, academics and policy makers can come together to share information, help progress and promote the underlying understanding and capabilities associated with strategic risk and crisis management, and develop their own personal and professional networks’.
