The Advanced Community Development Center was created to serve Cambodia through sustainable community development. To inspire Cambodians to exercise their right to education and utilize it as an avenue through which all other rights can be realized. To facilitate the Cambodians’ natural desire to seek out opportunities and fulfill their own potential.

A project that focused on the ability of students to fulfill classroom expectations for behavior and participation.-RedCap Database development-Teacher and student recruitment and consent process-Observation scheduling-Conducting observation and Woodcock Johnson III assessment, -Data cleaning, data entry and analysis.

Utilizing multiple data collecting methods including direct observation, Myself along with a small team of trained observers coordinated appointment and observation times with schools and teachers in the Richmond, Henrico and Chesterfield, Virginia area. I worked as an intern through the funding of the Southern Education Foundation as a [art of the Southern Education Leadership Initiative (SELI). My position required me to identify locations that matched criteria for the expansion of the Reach Out and Read (ROR) program, contact pediatric clinics and implement the program in those clinics. I was also a liaison between the RORVA coalition office and VA state and federal legislators to arrange visits for them at clinics in their districts.

Taught English to Khmer speaking Cambodians, worked to organize incoming volunteers travel arrangements.

Presided over the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Ran meetings, organized public service events for Student-Athletes as well as events for student body related to Athletics, Represented VCU to the CAA SAAC conference.
