  • The Byrd Theatre Foundation
Vice President, Board Of Directors; Chair, Programming & Marketing
The Byrd Theatre Foundation Nov 2013 - Sep 2017
    Richmond, Va, Us
As a Board Member of the Byrd Theatre Foundation, I support our collective effort to first restore the theatre, and then preserve its tradition by fulfilling our vision as a non-profit, community-supported film center, celebrating the motion picture palace experience of film. Elected Vice President, in May 2014, I've taken a vested interest in progressing conversations into actionable goals toward realizing our strategic vision of a Film Center and community institution. Previous Chair of Marketing, efforts overhauling web, communications, marketing and outreach reflected +150% increases in awareness, web traffic, first-time donors, email database and social following within 18 months. Shifting attention to Programming in late 2015, I facilitated the board's 5-year strategy before launching its first execution. Family Classics began in May 2016, already averaging 250 weekly attendance and breaking even with no external or paid marketing. Fall 2016 will launch two new monthly series, cultivating two varied audiences with expectations to expand as weekly programs next year. New marketing, combined with expanded programs, has increased sustainability and curbed projections in year over year declines typical of the movie industry. Additional focus over the next two years will attend to improving experience, facilities and infrastructure, as well as membership.
  • Occasiongenius
    Head Of Product
    Occasiongenius Mar 2016 - Sep 2016
    Richmond, Virginia, Us
PartyRVA was a two-sided emarketplace prototype, matching everyday and corporate planners with awesome (and often under-discovered) ideas, experiences and venues, creating epic shared experiences. Over the 6m contract I led discovery, prototyping, usability and agile development of two-sided emarketplace redesign, that restructured the business model and relaunched for scale -- subsequently raising $2.5M investment. The business would later focus on the underlying event interest engine, with a full pivot exposing the API for sale to filter and feed events to clients' customers. My role led a massive transformation of product, user acquisition, sales process, business model and brand, relaunched, positioned for scale and seeded the newer growth trajectory. Also serving as interim head of marketing, I lead strategic direction and experimentation, with specific attention to growth hacking.Winner of i.e.*, Start! Peninsula 4.0 and Capital One Labs startup competitions. Alum of Lighthouse Labs and DC i-Corps accelerators.
  • Inm United

After transitioning to a Product Lead, I ushered the business transformation to from fewer web projects to more new product discovery and innovation. I led adoption of customer discovery and lean thinking toward building smaller products faster, and iterating based on a rapid customer feedback loop. Projects range from 1-week Prototype Design & Validation Sprints to $300k Web & Mobile Apps, leveraging out-of-the box CMS to custom built APIs and ecommerce solutions. We often leveraged hybrid to rigid Agile practices to ensure optimal learning and efficiency for problem solving.
