About Grant Olson
As a Systems Coordinator at BIOptimizers, I primarily focus on administering and developing our system for utilizing the Atlassian suite and Jira software to facilitate project management and task-based communication. Additionally, I support our department’s overall development and management of company systems and processes. BIOptimizers is a company I whole-heartedly can get behind, both from a culture and mission perspective. The company aims to use “BIOptimization” to alleviate human suffering. BIOptimization is the process of:“...achieving ideal levels of aesthetics, performance and health. It's a state of existence where all of the body’s and brain’s functions flow in optimal quantities, and operate in perfect harmony.” Prior to BIOptimizers, I worked for almost 10 years in the sustainable agriculture industry. For around one year I worked at a state-of-the-art vertical farm, managing an R&D program and getting an intense crash course in hydroponics and plant science. And for nearly 9 years before that, I worked for Enterra Feed Corporation, which was one of the pioneers in the industrial insect production sector. Enterra’s vision was to feed and care for the world – a vision I shared and still embrace to this day. Progressing in Enterra and stepping into a supervisory position as R&D Manager, I realized that I have an equal passion for working with quality people and developing cohesive teams.I’m both an effective specialist and a team-oriented manager, keen to build on my strengths systems development, leadership, innovation, and applied science. Throughout my career, I’ve utilized my abilities to solve complex problems, build teams, coordinate projects, develop processes, and analyze systems. I excel at project management, facilitation, logistics, attention to detail, proficiency in auditing and assessing processes and systems, and I enjoy collaborating with others in multidisciplinary settings. I strive to understand others and develop quality relationships by consistently practicing emotional intelligence, active listening, and empathy. I am a big believer in the concepts of Nonviolent Communication and Extreme Ownership. While I’ve stepped away from the insect and sustainable agriculture sectors as my primary career path, I intend to keep myself active in these areas that still hold meaning in my life. With warm regards, I welcome you to contact me for collaborative opportunities or if you’d like to discuss areas within my wheelhouse.
