About Grant Pearson

I manage and support the delivery of sustainable waste management projects for SLR's clients in both the public and private sectors.Over the last 25+ years I have worked in a wide range of environmental roles and covered most aspects of the waste management spectrum from waste arisings studies, waste and resource strategy development, options for treatment and disposal and procurement of services.I have worked on projects throughout the UK and also internationally including Kuwait, the Island of St Helena and several projects in Africa.

    Since my promotion to Principal Consultant I have continued to manage and support the successful delivery of UK-based and international waste strategy projects. In 2012, I had the unique opportunity to work with the St. Helena Government (SHG) to develop a solid waste management strategy for the remote UK Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic. This involved living on the Island for approximately 3 months in the role of ‘waste expert’, liaising with all levels of SHG and co-ordinating the work of the multi-disciplinary project delivery team in the UK.

    During my time as an Associate, I transferred from the Permitting team into the Waste Strategy and Procurement team, in response to the opportunities available in the rapidly emerging waste collection and treatment sectors. I also provided technical support on international Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects arising from landfilling and waste treatment activities in several African nations.
