I am the CFO of the Achernar Assets Group, a Swiss private investment platform operating across a number of business units including Private Equity and Debt, Financial Services and Asset Management. I trained as a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) in the Financial Institutions team at Deloitte & Touche. Since completing my training, I have been privileged enough to work and live in 4 major cities to date, focussing on developing the Finance function of various global investment banks, asset managers, professional service firms and investment groups. My experience progressed from initial capital markets foundations, to Finance process and system development, project management and finally strategic business management. I helped build Maitland’s global professional services business up to our exit in December 2022 via business sales to Stonehage Fleming (Private Clients business) and Apex (Institutional businesses). At Maitland I was responsible for ensuring financial efficiency, participating in internal business structuring, systems development & consolidation as well as capital raising and growth by acquisition. In Maitland's expansionary phase I implemented business integration and change management processes that enabled the business to grow rapidly across jurisdictions and services lines. I was a member of Maitland’s Executive Committee, sat on the boards of various group companies including the main holding company, and participated in many other committees and oversight structures within the business.During the sale of Maitland's businesses, I joined the Achernar Group as a non-executive director of various companies within the Achernar Group and also various companies in sister groups.
