At Actavo International Engineering Solutions, my primary objective was to analyze the strength and clearance of utility poles. I performed my analysis of utility poles by using various programs such as IKE Office, OCalc, ArcGIS, and Google Earth. Through these programs I was able to accurately and efficiently perform MarkUps, Quality Control, Make Ready and Pole Loading Analyses in accordance to differing market requirements. Furthermore, I assisted in training methodologies and helped create a catalogue of training material for new hires.

Lawrence, Kansas Area

As a Forester for the City of Lawrence, my primary object was to assess the health of trees located on property owned by the City of Lawrence. I performed my assessment by conducting inventory on a regular basis, with the aim to understand and detail why certain species, or singular trees, were either thriving or declining. My secondary objective was to perform complete removals of trees deemed a safety hazard to local environment. I performed this duty with the assistance of aerial hydraulic vehicles, an experienced team of colleagues and a variety of tools ranging from chainsaws, ropes and mechanical advantages to safely remove selected trees. In addition to assessing the health and removal of trees, I was given the opportunity to lead a crew of part-time workers. My role as a crew leader was to direct and delegate specific tasks to part time workers so that removal jobs were executed safely and efficiently.

As a technician for the Horticulture Department, my duties included the outfitting and loading of the truck each day. Loading the truck required the proper loading of tools, both handheld and gas powered, garden hoses and gas canisters. In addition to loading the truck each day, my duties also included the cleaning of tools and trucks. Secondary duties involved driving the work trucks from location to location when needed.

As a painter for the University of Kansas Maintenance Department, I determined the needed daily materials, such as paint, paintbrushes, drop cloths, and more. Once at the site, I collaborated with my team to set up a central working station. From here, we followed procedures to protect unwanted areas from the paint as well as determined the most efficient and effective tools to paint the given space.

As a teller at Capitol Federal Savings, I not only refined my customer service skills working with a high volume of customers daily, but also directly handled cash, processed transactions, and balanced the cashbox. My hard work and reliability led to my promotion of Teller Level 3, where I balanced the vault cashbox (which included all of the teller's transactions for the day).

As a landscaper, for Schendel Lawn and Landscape, I performed a range of landscaping tasks such as installation of retaining walls, boarders, patios, sod, and walk ways. My responsibilities also included making sure all tools needed for the job were at the location, as well as working with a variety of materials from gravel to mulch, and everything in between. I was also responsible for accountability and maintenance of all equipment at the site, and being resourceful if and when a tool was not functioning.
