As a project engineer, Grant was responsible for overseeing the installation of new automation systems for various clients, including Alcoa, Alcon, Arcelor Mittal, SSAB, and Steel Dynamics. His duties included project planning, selecting appropriate devices for the application, drafting, coding, field commissioning, training employees, and providing repair services. Additionally, Grant had experience in PLC software development using AB/Rockwell and Siemens S7, as well as designing and implementing graphical HMI displays.

As a Clinical Engineer, Grant carried out preventative maintenance and system testing on medical equipment. He also assisted nursing staff with any equipment issues and installed, repaired, and tested medical devices. His responsibilities also included soldering components and performing board-level repairs.
