I started in the Printing Industry at the age of 16 at the Griffin Press as a labourer just to have a job and to get started in my working life. I soon worked out that I had a few more skills than just standing at the end of a carton glueing machine feeding in cartons all day.I approached the Management of Griffin Press to a point of being a pest to become a Printer and they finally succombed and offered me a Letterpress Printer Apprenticeship, I obtained several awards at Trade School and in the last year of my Apprenticeship I was awarded Griffin Press Apprentice of the Year. I then completed an Offset Conversion Course and remained as a Offset Printer for a further 8 years. I approached Management again to move into Customer Service. Management offered me a role as Estimator, Planner and later Account Management, I remained at Griffin Press for a further 8 years in this position. I then took the leap of faith and excepted a role at Gillingham Printers as a Sales Executive, I remained there for 15 years until it's closure, I moved to Hyde Park Press for 5 years until it's closure and now am extremely happy to be working at Openbook Howden. For the last 10 years I have persued my interests in the Fitness Industry and I am a Certified Advanced Group Fitness Trainer, so I spend my evenings during the week getting people fit and healthy.
