A dedicated research manager and leader with more than two decades of expertise in computer vision, media and new user experiences. Proven track record from visionary research to innovative industry solutions, paired with entrepreneurship. A visionary leader with strong publication record and passion for pushing boundaries of visual computing and AI technology for real world applications in industry.Oliver is currently working for Intel Labs in Germany on systems for the validation of AI and machine learning functions for automated driving and innovative VR/XR experiences. Previously he was the operational director of the Intel Visual Computing Institute in Saarbrücken, Germany. This role included defining and implementation of Intel-funded research projects executed by academical partners and alignment of these with Intel's business needs. Prior to his work for Intel he worked as a Lead Technologist for BBC R&D in London, UK on computer vision projects for innovative media production systems.His research interests include AI, Visual Computing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, New user experiences, media production, VR/AR and innovative industrial applications.He is a regular contributor to corporate innovation actions and knowledge management. Further, he contributes as an expert of the European Commission and national funding bodies to strategic research agendas and project reviews.
