Responsibilities included customer interaction, product management, Engineering Change management, design changes, and managing a product focused team. -Led Team to improve On-Time delivery of custom enclosures solutions by 40%-Reduced average Delivery interval from 12 weeks to less than 8 weeks-Contributed to increase of sales output of 20% from previous year.

Responsible for Mechanical Design activities related to acquisition of assets from Nortel Networks. Including:-Transferred Nortel product data to Zhone Technologies’ AGILE data management system, including Bill of Material (BOM) verification and Engineering Change (ECO) Creation/Approval.-Continued to design and support electro-mechanical packaging systems for indoor and outdoor telecommunications equipment from concept to manufacture. -Created development cost, time estimates and proposals for new designs and redesigns.-Provided support to Order Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, Marketing and Field Installation.

Responsible for overall management of engineering design team. This included project management responsibilities for several simultaneous programs. People management responsibilities included objective setting, performance reviews, and hiring. Responsible for process and culture changes to support shorter introduction schedules and smaller windows of market opportunity. -Implemented Pro/Intralink software to more effectively manage design data at all phases of product design. This resulted in a 10%-15% improvement in design cycle time.-Performed in a functional/matrix management role requiring coordination of four different functions; Mechanical Design, Hardware Lab Management, PCB Layout, and Power Design. During the course of this assignment no program deliverables were missed.-Simultaneously managed multiple high level projects that often required interaction with several cross functional groups. Projects were typically delivered on or ahead of schedule and many required accelerated deliverables.

Responsible for electro-mechanical design of telecommunications equipment utilizing Pro/Engineer Solid Modeling software. Projects included: Indoor and Outdoor Enclosures, Unit Level Design, and Circuit Pack development/support. Led teams to deliver first customer shipments on average 2-3 months shorter than typical design cycles.

Introduced new products to manufacturing. This included development of manufacturing processes and methods, building of prototypes, providing input to design, and implementation of Engineering Changes (ECs). This required working with closely with several cross-functional groups and supporting several concurrent engineering practices. Several of the project teams were given internal Nortel Networks awards.
