I will never forget the look on the face of my exasperated neighbor. His property was not draining well from the recent rains and there I was, a 10—year old kid damming up the drainage ditch, trying to see how much water I could hold back. I had inadvertently caused more water to stand on his property. Needless to say he was not happy. Clearly, he didn't grasp the learning opportunity for this budding civil engineer. ;)I am still studying and analyzing water flow patterns and designing systems to handle all kinds of water – and am happy to report much more cognizant of the effects on upstream areas! In addition, I have expanded since that time to include roadway, utility and site designs for residential and commercial projects.I have spent the last 30 years or so specializing in civil engineering and loving every minute of it.
