About Gray Garmon

I believe in the power of design to improve our communities and the world around us. Human-Centered Design is a methodology that focuses on the needs and desires of people to develop insightful and useful solutions to complex challenges. I’ve blended my architectural education and experiences in social impact to develop a design career that is focused on Human-Centered Design, the built environment, and design pedagogy in higher education. I learned about international development and community design practices at the grassroots level in the Peace Corps. I worked with architects Herzog and de Meuron to better understand how great designers think, and earned my Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania to expand my abilities to use and teach design in non-traditional places.Currently, I’m a faculty member at the University of Texas where I teach multidisciplinary students about the power of Human-Centered Design and the methods to tackle wicked problems.

Listed skills include Drawing, Community Development, International Development, Product Development, and 18 others.

Whether you are visualizing what society aligned with the principles of nature will look like or creating technology that will help us get there, we invite you to join our community of collaborators. Through creative expression, members of this program will co-create in service of a world that works “for 100% of humanity in the shortest possible time, through spontaneous cooperation, without ecological offense or the disadvantage of anyone”.
