I am currently working under Senior Project Manager Trey Miller in our companies “Target Division.” We do a lot of work for Target including remodels and new builds. Currently we are working in Boiling Springs, SC to build a new ground up Target and a daycare center know as “Children’s Courtyard.” I handle all of the submittals and RFI’s that go along with our projects. I also manage the change orders with our subcontractors and the owner. I process our drawing revisions and assist Trey with any miscellaneous tasks he may have.

While working with the Southern Brew Corporation to open up 79 of these drive-thru coffee shops across the southeast, I was able to be apart of the operations team to get these modular stores up and running. I worked to hire and equip employees to operate these stores successfully. I was also able to join the development team and perform the duties necessary to overturn these buildings. I gained valuable knowledge about how a franchise is run. I was also able to expand my knowledge to the service industry.

Over the 2022 Summer, I worked in downtown Birmingham on the new UAB Rehabilitation Center to replace Spain Rehab. I worked on site in the job trailer alongside 3 Superintendents.

I worked under Senior Project Manager Joel Brown during my Junior Fall Semester on the Buffalo Rock Central Hub Facility in Birmingham. I was on the office side of this project working with 3 other PM’s. My tasks consisted of executing subcontracts, uploading RFI’s and submittals, taking meeting minutes during weekly meetings/OAC’s, calling subcontractors for pricing, getting safety/quality documents returned, etc.

During my sophomore spring I decided to take on a part time position with Rabren while taking classes at Auburn to gain extra experience. I managed deliveries, did any work my superintendents needed assistance with while juggling multiple items on their agenda, and walked the building looking for errors or unfinished work needing to be completed by the subs and made notes of them.

This was a summer position I held learning a lot from the crew who had been there for a year. I worked under the superintendents at the EAMC building 6 off of University Drive in Auburn, AL. I learned lots of handiwork with carpentry, how to operate a skid steer/ lull, and worked with the sub-contractors making sure their work went smoothly.

I worked with different superintendents moving to three job sites while I was with them. I worked at The Mercedes Benz Dealership on renovations while it was still operating, so I played an important role maintaining the site ensuring it was spotless and assisting the Superintendent with his duties. When that was finished I was moved to the Urgent Care West Mobile location doing carpentry and little tasks. I finished off working at an apartment complex with a crew tasked with the landscaping for the complex.

This is the first official job I ever held going into sophomore year of high school. I gained experience running the shop keeping it up and organized while also scrapping old AC units for parts such as copper and compressors to be sold for cash making the company extra money. I also did the landscaping making it look pristine every day of the week. I learned how to operate a forklift with ease, moving pallets of units.
