About Grayson Davis

I am a first-year Math PhD student at NYU Courant. I received a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from Simon Fraser University (SFU). My undergraduate coursework was mainly in abstract algebra (groups, rings, fields) and mathematical analysis (functional, complex, numerical). In addition, I have some coursework in elementary number theory, discrete mathematics (graph theory), partial differential equations (PDEs), and geometry. My undergraduate research experience is in applied math and PDEs. I have completed a project involving the finite element approximation of a vectorial eigenvalue problem, which formed the foundation for my honours thesis. In the Summer between finishing my undergraduate degree and beginning my graduate studies, I worked on a project studying Schauder estimates for the Landau kinetic equation.In addition to my studies, I previously served on the board of directors of the Gaby Davis Foundation. In honour of my sister who passed away from cancer, we work to provide financial assistance and practical support to families who have a child with cancer.
