I served as the GIS Coordinator for the Department of Infrastructure and Development in the City of Richmond, Indiana, where I was responsible for maintaining geographic information systems in conjunction with other city departments and the government of Wayne County. I maintained the city's building department database for our code enforcement, permits, and inspections. I developed applications, static and online maps, support led users, and otherwise leveraged spatial information toward improving the lives of Richmond's residents. In addition to my mapping responsibilities, I engaged in sustainability project management for the City of Richmond and served as staff liaison to, and vice-chair of, the Environmental Sustainability Commission. With support from the Environmental Resilience Institute (ERI) and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, I supervised the Beat the Heat program in Richmond as part of a larger national climate resiliency effort to help communities manage and overcome extreme heat events. I led the Sustainability Commission's workgroup on drafting the City’s 2022 Climate Action Plan. I supervised the Indiana Department of Environmental Management's CLEAN Communities Pilot program in Richmond, where I lead a McKinney Climate Fellow who helped us on up to 30 pre-approved projects including the CAP.

I provided consultation services assisting organizations in the exploration of, establishment of, and operation of food waste composting programs. I am experienced with K-12, University, Corporate, Restaurant, Manufacturing, Municipal, Neighborhood/Community, and Office composting situations and their associated limitations and requirements. I assisted in the ideation, creation of materials for, rollout, and support of novel community composting models at schools, restaurants, and town centers in Oxford, Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Toledo, Ohio. I performed all aspects of customer interface for Go Zero Services, LLC, a startup providing composting services in central and western Ohio, handling the scoping of services required by customers, post-sale accession of accounts, overseeing contract performance, invoicing, and customer relations. I represented Go Zero Services, LLC, at public events and festivals to provide service for and educate the public about food waste reduction, and coordinated with event managers to introduce composting into Zero Waste curricula. I created internal systems to collect detailed on-site service metrics to be comprehensively shared with clientele using Google Sheets for transparent reporting purposes. I provided oversight and direction of collections vehicle routing through weekly meetings with drivers and use of the associated service software. Participated in the development of the Central Ohio Food Waste Initiative's Action plan, and presented on urban and commercial composting at Cincinnati's Master Composter Series.

I assisted the Ohio Environmental Council's Director of Clean Water with a project to review documents from 231 of Ohio's permitted Concentrated Animal Feeding Facilities to create a report that highlights the need to revise the outdated and inadequate regulations of the CAFF industry. I gathered thousands of data points from various industry documents to calculate the numbers required to tell the story of how much manure is being produced by these facilities and where the manure goes once it leaves the site. I created charts and tables to help show that story, and assisted with some of the writing of the report. Our recommendations were to require more complete state-level registration of livestock facilities, obtain greater transparency and accountability in the sale and distribution of manure, and to dissuade manure application at greater-than-agronomic rates to agricultural fields.

For the Spring and Summer seasons, I helped the farm manager operate a 65 acre certified organic farm at the heart of central Ohio's rural-urban interface. Our team worked to increase efficiency and yield by preemptively responding to insect, weed, and disease pressure, and by identifying areas most in need of timely attention—a continuous challenge in a diversified agricultural system.I germinated then transplanted many varieties flowers, herbs, and vegetables into plasticultural beds that I helped prepare in both high-tunnels and in the field. I grew, harvested, washed, packed, and delivered produce to wholesalers, local restaurants, and the company kitchen for on-site wedding catering and the creation of value added product.In addition to production, I directly engaged the public through the operation of a stall at the New Albany Farmers Market where I generated revenue and promoted the company.
