My name is Grayson Stapp, and ever since I was eight years old, I've been fascinated with creating stories. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Oklahoma in December of 2023 from the Gaylord College of Journalism. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Professional Writing with a minor in English Writing.I gained a strong set of skills from college that include editing, copywriting, and formatting. I was praised by peers and professors alike for my editing skills in my coursework. I am quick, timely, and efficient with my work and have never had an issue meeting deadlines.I have accrued several notable achievements over the years, first one being published in my high school's literary publication, Fenris. I later worked on the same publication in my senior year, where I helped organize and edit submissions. I attended Deutschfest, a festival that celebrates German heritage, in my senior year as well. Three others and I submitted a video we wrote together, which earned us second place in the skit category. When I was younger, I was recognized by my sixth grade English teacher for my writing, and I was later invited to a writing workshop in 2012. One of the poems I wrote during the workshop was later published in a writing collection, Creative Writing 2012-2013, which was sponsored by the University of Oklahoma. My personal favorite achievement is that one of my works that I created in my short story class in my junior year of college was used as a recruitment example for high school students to join the Gaylord College of Journalism once they graduated.Some relevant work experience can be pulled from the time I worked at the Norman Transcript. I was the last line of defense before the pages were sent to the press. I would proofread pages, and if there were any mistakes, I would return them to the writer's room upstairs where they could fix them accordingly. As an office assistant, I make sure information stored in files is properly punctuated and formatted.Please feel free to reach out!
