These points would only be redeemable once or twice a month, when a section of their site called the "Points Place" would randomly open with high-ticket items that had limited stock, ranging from $5 PayPal gift cards to $3,000 Macbook Pro's. Lockerz generated a huge following at the time.• Wrote a cross-browser toolbar with a web-based widget that would play an alarm sound and provide a link to Lockerz whenever the "Points Place" would open, used by 50,000+ people• Created a simulated "Points Place" website where users could actually practice the process of redeeming their points so that they were best prepared for when the site actually opens• Regularly provided Lockerz development team with vulnerability insights to prevent their website from being exploited by botters with auto-fill software, blocking tens of thousands of botters• Through Google Ads profits and partnerships, the operating costs were only around $100/yr, with thousands of dollars in revenue
