OMERACT is an independent initiative of international stakeholders interested in outcome measurement, specifically wthin the field of rheumatology. OMERACT strives to improve endpoint outcome measurement through a data driven, iterative consensus process involving relevant stakeholder groups. I currently serve on the following workgroups:-Strategic Advisory Group-Shared Decision Making-Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (which I co-chair)-Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis-Patient Outcomes in Longitudinal Studies-Still's Disease

Here are just a few of the things I work regularly on:- Incorporating DEIB into the workplace, teams, committees, and personal paradigms- Health equity, cultural awareness and competency, inclusive healthcare, LGBTQ+ healthcare- Pediatric disability, the impact of facing mortality at a young age, transition to adult care- Rheumatology, pediatric rheumatology, and the rheumatic patient experience- Neurodiversity, neurodivergence, mental health, rare disease, chronic illness, chronic pain, and disability- Sexual health, sexual education, and reproductive healthcare- Trauma, abuse, and domestic violence- Communications, inclusive marketing, and marketing plansWriting & Social Media- Wrote pieces for clients such as the US Pain Foundation's INvisible Magazine, Our Lives, Healthline, Health Central, Achieve Clinical, Janssen, and The Tempest- Ghostwritten healthcare articles for Visiture- Provided social media and website management for Gender Station (now defunct), developing social media handles from scratch, writing blog posts, and editing the websiteSexual Health & Education- Created, launched, and continue to manage an award-winning website Chronic Sex, including writing all web copy and most articles- Created, launched, and continue to manage a social media presence, accumulating over 11k followers in a few years' time- Created, launched, wrote, recorded, edited, and produced an award-winning podcast to discuss related topics, interviewing top experts in their fields- Developed, designed, and presented curricula and multiple workshops to a wide variety of audiences including health care providers, sex educators, colleges, and laypeople- Managed guest posters, editing their articles- Collaborated with multiple affiliates and colleagues to promote their work- Conceptualized a research project for which I received a grant- Mentored upcoming sex educators

- Created a social media presence and non-academic website for the Trans CARE Collaborative, including writing all web copy- Grew followers to multiple thousands in over a year by regular posting, sharing others' posts, and following a social media strategy I developed- Recruited new members interested in joining the transgender-affirming psychology group- Raised awareness of the issues facing transgender and nonbinary people of color, especially related to mental health access and care

- Wrote video scripts and lesson text for PowerToFly’s DEIB Membership product PowerUp, including conceptualizing and developing the SHRM-certified Disability in the Workplace course from scratch and writing both scripts and lesson text. - Wrote scripts for short videos — known as Quick takes — to explain the basics about DEIB, social justice, the LGBTQ+ community, the disability and neurodivergent community, the BIPOC community, and more.- Developed lesson text to supplement course video lessons- Performed research and collaborated with Subject Matter Experts to create course materials- Updated internally generated reports and whitepapers to reflect current DEIB practices- Collaborated with a variety of others to align on content, impact, and workflows- Repurposed existing content to create new educational materials- Curated short and long-form content related to DEIB news and trends- Contributed to company-wide goals by bringing an innovative mindset to the e-learning space

- Searched for culturally competent providers across the United States, vetting and adding them to our internal private directory- Audited existing provider and clinic profiles, updating with pertinent information including new contact information, which providers were friendly to LGBTQ+ and Black patients, and more- Prepared for go-live with new clients by conducting outreach to new providers in specific areas, who took specific insurance plans, etc.- Improved the ways we collect and share data on providers via Salesforce- Collaborated with Care Coordinators from the Communities offering and the greater IH community on difficult provider searches- Advocated on behalf of members with insurance plans and providers as needed- Provided education to providers and clinics around LGBTQ+ and Black health equity issues

- Interacted regularly with members, providing guidance around healthcare and insurance as well as case management services.- Connected members with resources, providers, and education- Searched for and vetted culturally competent health care providers for members of the LGBTQ+ community- Educated parents of LGBTQ+ youth on the importance of competent care- Advocated on behalf of members with insurance plans, provider offices, providers, and others as needed

- Developed and implemented strategies for communication and outreach to support the following program areas under the Chronic Disease Prevention Unit: Heart Disease and Stroke, Diabetes Prevention and Control, Nutrition, and Physical Activity- Designed and edited complex documents, reports, and presentations- Maintained and regularly updated the CDPU web pages in Drupal- Composed regular social media posts, working with internal communications officers and following government guidelines while crafting engaging content- Planned and assisted in handling logistics for virtual meetings, trainings, and webinars- Maintained email and mailing lists for the public and specific stakeholders- Assisted with grant management, editing and developing deliverables, and more- Provided training and technical assistance to CDC grantees working with the State of Wisconsin- Handled public health information with a health equity lens, centering marginalized communities- Participated on internal and external workgroups, including the Wisconsin Diabetes Advisory Group, the Wisconsin Heart Health Community of Practice, the DHS DEI Culture Team (as a Policy Analyst), DHS Data Quality Workgroup, DHS LGBTQ Health Steering Committee, BCHP Health Data Equity Focus Group, and the Health Equity Advisory Team (HEAT)

- Provided an array of services to disabled people in south-central Wisconsin, including providing information and resources- Provided peer support- Trained individuals on new skills - Advocated for consumers' needs, including transitioning them from community-centered housing to independent housing- Educated consumers and the public about assistive technology, including providing training for individuals using AT for the first time- Spearheaded our advocacy network, ActionNet- Advised and consulted with consumers about personal tasks, organizational skills, and more- Composed social media messaging, highlighting awareness days and new news from around the south-central Wisconsin region and state- Served as a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategic Planning Committee - Served as a member of the Change Team

- Composed social media messaging about healthcare, health technology, and more- Managed Carbon Health's social media pages- Crafted written articles about the future and current states of healthcare

- Provided administrative support for over 40 physicians, including planning and organizing hospital on-call schedules for newborns- Assisted in onboarding new physicians- Heavily focused on assisting the division director with projects, events, and additional tasks as needed- Handled incoming communications for multiple pediatricians, including requests for refills, appointments, referrals, and consultations- Developed a division newsletter, collecting news from 6 area clinics and disseminating it regularly- Assisted in streamlining clinic workflow development across the 6 area clinics- Worked on quality improvement projects, one for each area clinic- Created and designed powerpoints, agendas, and other meeting materials for both recurring and one-off meetings- Coordinated guest presenters at regularly meetings, both from UW-Madison and external partners

- Provided administrative support for professors, graduate students, and undergraduate students- Assisted with onboarding and HR tasks- Managed and edited the department's class catalog in lieu of a departmental advisor- Created and designed powerpoints, agendas, and other meeting materials for both recurring and one-off meetings- Coordinated and organized both domestic and international travel for professors, students, incoming guest speakers, prospective students, and entire classes- Assisted with reimbursement processes for professors, graduate students, undergraduate students, prospective students, and guests- Drafted letters notifying appointed fellows and honorees of their awards, re-upping these annually as needed- Designed and implemented a specialized process for using the department purchasing card, getting widespread fraud issues under control within 3 months of taking the management of the card- Assisted with reviewing and editing both the quarterly department newsletter and academic website- Co-managed social media pages, namely Facebook- Regularly organized office supplies, ordering additional supplies as needed- Implemented a process to inform people of allergens in department-provided snacks at colloquia- Kept the office organized and tidy while performing receptionist-related duties, managing both the department general phone number and email address

- Captioned phone calls live for the D/deaf and hard-of-hearing- Coached new captioners, providing training, tricks, and tips- Coached captioners falling behind in quality metrics, improving their ability to do their job- Assisted with company-wide art projects to beautify the workspace
