I pursue every fascination I have as deeply and as thoroughly as I can. Growing up in a small house in the woods with three engineers and a doctor I was raised to investigate every little thing I don't understand. In a world where technology makes leaps and bounds every day, I believe the separation between form and function is largely behind us. Engineers are no longer limited by contemporary materials, and artists are no longer limited by what engineers can build. When the time came for me to pick a college to attend, I had a hard time choosing between an education focused on engineering or one focused on art and design. I found the creative and visual aspects of graphic design and studio art rewarding but I was also intrigued by the math and science that makes our world tick. In the end, I decided to study mechanical engineering and pursue a minor in graphic design.I believe that the most beautiful objects in our world can be the most engineered objects. I have been fortunate enough to work at two companies which I believe embody that ideal, Tesla Motors and SpaceX. The experience I have gained in industry has informed my designs even further.
