I am spending the summer working on marketing, customer acquisition and strategy at The New Wine Review, a digital first publication reporting on all things wine and whiskey.

Lead Tactician and Planner onboard USS ROSS (DDG 71). Responsible for all long range planning and certification for forward deployed operations in the Sixth Fleet Area of Responsibility. Also serving as the Senior Watch Officer, creating the underway watch organization for at sea navigation and combat watches for all 330 sailors onboard. Lead planner for all international interaction and coordination with NATO and international partners in the European Theater.

Operations Department Head. As Operations Officer, managed all aspects of the ships long and short range schedule. Led a department of 60 sailors in all deck seamanship events and planned and executed all certification events for each warfare area shipwide.

Lead project manager for Navy focused projects. I took problems brought to DIU from the entire navy and worked with the individual organization to frame their problem and find a solution in the public marketplace that was already proven, then developed a prototype, and used a rapid contracting vehicle to deploy the solution throughout the navy. I managed four projects that saw successful prototypes brought to full contract throughout the broader Navy

Advisor the the Secretary of the Navy on innovation during my fellowship at the Defense Innovation Unit.

I manage the day to day operations of all US Naval Expeditionary Forces deployed to Europe and Africa. Expeditionary forces under the command of CTF-68 include Explosive Ordinance Disposal, Naval Mobile Construction, Coastal Riverine Security, and USMC Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Teams. These forces are highly mobile, quickly deployable, and mission-tailorable.

I am responsible for the Aegis Weapon System onboard DDG 82, USS Lassen. I manage the maintenance, operation and tactical employment of the SPY-1D Radar and all associated computers, missiles and equipment.

As the ASW officer onboard a DDG 51 class destroyer, I was responsible for all sonar systems and underwater fire control systems. I lead the Combat Acoustics division in the Weapons department which totaled 17 personnel and $100 million of equipment and weapons. I was also the tactical warfare lead for all undersea warfare tactics and execution during exercises, work-ups and deployments.
