I was Manager for Instagram Public Policy for Latin American countries, based out of São Paulo, Brazil. I was responsible for managing relationships with external stakeholders, including government officials and policymakers, civil society organisations, industry and academia in issues such as youth well being, creator economy and branded content, intermediary liability, privacy & content regulation. I designed and managed programs and campaigns on issues such as misinformation and hate speech, well-being, economic impact, diversity and creator economy. I also served as an internal consultant for product development teams regarding all Instagram related matters, including product launches (Reels, Hidden Words, Badges, etc) in the Latin America region.

Bogotá D.C. Area, Colombia

I was Head of Public Policy for the Central America and the Caribbean region based out of Bogotá, Colombia. I was responsible for defining and executing Google’s public policy presence in +10 countries, monitoring regulatory initiatives and advocating for the company in issues such as tax, data protection, child safety and youth well being, over the top regulation, cybersecurity and content and media regulation, among others. I was also responsible for designing and managing social impact projects and managing relationships with local and regional stakeholders, including government officials and policymakers, intergovernmental organisations, trade associations and civil society.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

As a Senior Policy Analyst for the Latin America region, I designed and managed projects about Economic Impact of Internet platforms, in partnership with organisations such as the Inter American Development Bank, the Wilson Center, the Latin American Internet Association and the Council of Americas, among others. I was also responsible for defining and executing the company’s strategy in child safety and youth well being, engaging with stakeholders like ICMEC and other civil society organisations. I was also the lead for Community Affairs programs for Google’s Data Center in Quilicura, Chile, and responsible for designing and executing social impact projects in Argentina, Chile, Peru and Mexico with funding from Google.org. I supported advocacy work in issues such as intermediary liability, platform regulation, data protection, copyright, tax and over the top and provided internal counsel for product launches (Street View, YouTube Kids, Maps, Arts&Culture), leading outreach with government officials as appropriate.
