• Designed unique ultra-high-efficiency HVAC system for a new $75M public school complex, including energy and comfort analysis and control sequences. Successfully advocated for novel green approaches among initially skeptical stakeholders. This project was awarded First Place ASHRAE Technology Awards at the Chapter and Regional levels for New Educational Facilities (National level award under consideration).• Commissioned laboratories and administrative buildings for clients including UC Berkeley, the California Institute of Technology, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Performed field testing, analysis, construction management, and post-project measurement and verification.• Retrofitted fume hood labs for variable airflow at Stanford University, the California Institute of Technology, and California Department of Public Health. Performed investigation, analysis, product specification, and construction management.• Developed software to streamline analysis for fume hood retrofit projects, which is now in use throughout the firm. • Developed and executed functional tests for a 16,000-ton campus central chiller plant for the California Department of General Services.• Optimized data center cooling system designs, including underfloor CFD analysis and controls.• Developed functional tests for multi-mode cooling systems (DX, evaporative, and economizer) at several datacenters.• Participated in ASHRAE committees TC 1.4 and SPC 207 to develop standards for automatic fault detection and diagnostics.• Wrote best-in-class model control sequences, soon to be published as an ASHRAE Guideline document.
