I am a freelance journalist and nonprofit activist focused on sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular focus on Kenya and Ethiopia. I am keenly focused on Indigenous rights issues, food and energy security, and climate change risks. My work is also focused on pastoralism and sustainable economic livelihoods in the drylands of northern Kenya.

I was the Lead Writer for Sustainable Energy for All, a UN-affiliated organization focused on scaling clean energy access, clean cooking and other SDG goals in emerging markets in Africa and Asia. I wrote OpEds, blog posts and web content. I also helped produce and edit research reports.

Key decision-maker for past 13 years at Ceres, a leading sustainability NGO mobilizing business and investor leadership on climate change, water scarcity and other global sustainability threats.
