I manage the day to day operations of two venues, providing customer service to numerous community groups and businesses and ensuring we are meeting targets and operating to budget. I am responsible for ensuring the venue is compliant with health and safety standards through auditing, site inductions and timely management of repairs and maintenance within budget.

Trustpower Arena, Tauranga

With a keen interest in sport and activity, this role was all about coordinating sports leagues and community activities at Trustpower Arena. Fast paced with plenty of interaction with community groups, businesses, schools and partnering with sports codes to coordination holiday programmes this role required you to juggle a lot of different activities often at once.In addition to this, there was recuitment and management of umpires for multiple sports to manage.

Managing the overall operations for ARGOS Gymnastic Club was a challenging role where I was responsible for 25 coaching staff and coordinating their professional development, membership management, payroll, GST, PAYE, creditors, debtors, repairs and maintenance and board reporting.I increased the club membership by 25% during my time there and increased club revenue through the retail sales. This required liaising with our international supplier, multiple clubs and customs.Another large income stream for us was over the competition season, which would typically run for a minimum of 5 months. I would have a team made up of the board and club members to help to organise suppliers for events, competition schedules, volunteers and on the day event management and together we ran events successfully with increased numbers each year.

My husband I successfully owned and operated two 24hr fitness studios, this was well before 24hr fitness became popular and necessary for todays lifestyle. We generated memberships 300 in small towns. We had a very loyal membership and really looked after gym users with quality and consistent services. All our business during this time was generated by word of mouth and investing in community relationships. We managed all aspects of the business, accounts, PAYE, GST, membership, repairs and maintenance.

London And New Zealand

While travelling in the UK I worked as a care giver and this lead on the working in the office as a recruitment consultant. I loved this job. Having worked as a caregiver, I was able to understand what our clients needed to live independently in their home and recognise the qualities that would make a good caregiver. I was responsible for recruiting and retaining sufficient numbers to meet the demands of care required. interviewing, reference checking, inducting, scheduling work and authorising timesheets for all carergivers.During my time recruiting I had a portfolio of approximately 30 - 50 clients with varying levels of care to be organised . This was quite challenging at times, due to the nature of care staff moving around and the association with casual working. Building good relationships with my care staff offered more commitment to assist with this along with establishing a relationship with another recruiter who ran a Bureau care service in the same area. We would often sub contract our carers to keep work consistent and our clients looked after.After moving back home to New Zealand I set up an office in Sydney and my own office here in New Zealand, based out of Auckland to recruit internationally. I loved the responsibility and process of setting up the new offices, however working with the time difference was not ideal.I moved to Tauranga and worked for Healthcare NZ and resumed temporary recruiting before opening our fitness studios.
