Greer began her career in healthcare somewhat unconventionally, with a bike accident resulting in significant dental trauma. Her plan to embark on a university pathway was interupted, with the intricacies of the subsequent dental treatment piquing her interest. The idea of a gap year dental assisting dawned, and with that, a new path was set.Greer joined the team at The Dental Surgery, Newstead in 2011. Beginning as a trainee dental assistant, she developed a strong clinical understanding of dentistry. This is underpinned by her own experiences of dental treatment. This has given Greer unique insight into both the patient experience and complex treatment planning.Greer completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting in 2013, followed by her Certificate IV in Professional Practice Management in 2014. As her interest, knowledge and experience developed, the original plan of university study became the next logical step. Greer commenced a Bachelor of Business with the University of Tasmania in 2018.In both 2019 and 2023, Greer had the pleasure of working with the Department of State Growth as a member of the Employer of Choice judging panel. Greer has a unique skillset, with her clinical understanding being essential in the management and development of both dental practitioners and support staff. This goes hand-in-hand with her own continuous improvement mindset, and has assisted the Practice to continue on its own continuous improvement journey.Greer has been integral in developing The Dental Surgery, Newstead's training regime. Her own training pathway has led Greer to develop a passion for high quality training both at The Dental Surgery, Newstead, and more broadly in the dental industry Nationwide. She has assisted over 25 employees to start their own training journeys during her tenure. Greer was excited to lead The Dental Surgery, Newstead to receive the title of Small Employer of The Year at the Tasmanian Training Awards in 2022. This award was recognition of the team's commitment to, and innovation in vocational education.In 2023, Greer was appointed as Director at The Dental Surgery, Newstead. This new role reflects Greer's long-term commitment to the provision of both quality healthcare and a positive work environment.Greer's role continues to be diverse and ever-changing. She is adaptable, reliable and approachable. She is a clear communicator and prides herself on exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of her work. She prides herself on being an authentic leader; developing trusting relationships and leading by example.
