Dr. Aker graduated from Florida State University in 1980 and Southern College of Optometry in 1984. During optometry school, he spent special focus on ocular disease and contact lenses.Dr. Aker has assisted in over 2,000 LASIK surgeries and has managed the post-operative care of over 4,500 patients.He served as President of the Brevard Optometric Association from 1990 to 1994 and is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, Brevard Optometric Association and Optometric Retina Society. He is recognized as a Southern Diplomate in Glaucoma Management and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.Dr. Aker is committed to providing a definitively advanced diagnostic facility with cutting edge diagnostic equipment normally found only at teaching hospitals.
