LanzaTech is a carbon capture and transformation company utilising an innovative biocatalyst(microorganism) to capture carbon from industrial gases and gasified solid waste streams. As EuropeanPolicy Director I am responsible for Government Affairs in Europe providing input into a wide range ofpolicy making at an EU and national level. I am particularly active in climate including renewables policy,biotechnology and carbon capture and utilisation, Within the EU I participate in the CCUS Forum,Renewable and Low Carbon Fuels Alliance and Bio-based Industries Consortium. In the UK I am responsible for input to all aspects of low carbon fuels policy. I also lead stakeholder engagement in Project Dragon the LanzaTech project to construct a Sustainable Aviation Fuel productionfacility in Port Talbot, Wales capturing carbon from industrial waste gases to turn into SAF

Established a UK presence for T&E building the reputation and profile of the organisation with UK policy makers and influencers in sustainable mobility and diversifying media contacts. Key areas of the work include supporting the shift to electric cars; developing new policy to encourage the supply of sustainable aviation fuels; and investigating fraudulent supply of biofuels. Member of the T&E management team.

Led EU campaigns for more sustainable vehicles at T&E and its network of nearly 60 members. Also strategic advisor on Energy Campaigns. Effectively integrated technical, communications and public affairs activities to deliver successful campaigns that produced real environmental improvements and in the process build T&Es profile, reputation & resources. Notable successes included: • Successful "95 grams" campaigns to secure ambitious 2020 new car CO2 emissions limits despite strong opposition from Germany and its car industry. These standards are now driving the shift to electric cars in Europe. • Securing the worlds most ambitious car new CO2 limits for 2025 and 2030. A 2 year campaign managing a network of more than 50 campaign groups to persuade Members of the European Parliament and EU Member States to significantly strengthen a weak legislative proposal of the European Commission. • Providing the NGO voice of the dieselgate scandal in Europe and exposing how carmakers cheated tests. Resulted in a essential new technical legislation that strengthen both the EU system of vehicle approvals and tests by exposing cheating and collusion by carmakers • Developed T&Es campaign for emobility including establishing the multi-stakeholder Platform for Electromobility. The wo rk transformed attitudes of policy makers and emobility has become recognised now as the primary way to decarbonise transport.

ECOS works to strengthen the input of environmental groups into standard setting. It also provides technical services to the other environmental organisations. As President of the Executive Committee (2017-21) I chaired the creation of a new strategic plan supported by new communications, membership and fundraising strategies. I appointed a new CEO and steered the organisation to become an international NGO with new legal statutes. Since I joined the Board ECOS has moved from loss making to building over €600k of reserves and more than doubled its income.

A self-owned family business that includes delivering consultancy services to diverse clients mainly on the topic of clean vehicles and sustainable transport and energy. A variety of work is undertaken for clients ranging from NGO's, businesses and investors in US, Europe and Asia. Clients are selectively chosen to avoid conflicts of interest with other positions.

1 day per month role as member of the Cenex Board advising this £12M public-private centre of excellence for low carbon vehicles. I directed the successful launch and subsequently guided its development to a sustainable business model. Ensured public funds were appropriately spent and initiatives benefited a wide range of UK businesses. Member of the Audit Committee.

Led a UK public-private partnership of over 200 organisations focused on accelerating market transformation to lower carbon vehicles and fuels and supporting emerging cleantech businesses. Key achievements included • Developed and successfully implemented strategic plans securing a doubling of active participation, 50% increase in income and 25% reduction in overheads and substantially enhanced reputation and influence. • Establishing LowCVP as a not for profit company: established new governance systems, financial controls, HR systems and new revenue streams. • Developed the world's first national biofuel sustainability regulations and regulator; and co-authored the first major European study on indirect land use change (Gallagher Report). The work had a major influence on subsequent EU policies.• Established with the UK motor industry Europe's first national car labeling schemes for new and second hand vehicles. • Designed Government schemes with funds of over £100 million for RD&D for low carbon vehicles. • Providing independent expert advice to Ministers, Parliament and the European Commission.

2 days per month Non-Executive role steering a Non-Departmental Public Body with responsibility for the regulation and development of a sustainable market for renewable transport fuels. Advised Government throughout the creation of the Agency and during the four years of its operation and facilitated a seamless and rapid reintegration of activities back into the Department for Transport. Member of the Risk and Audit Committee overseeing internal management systems including fraud detection and prevention. Chairman of the Remuneration Committee (from September 2010) including negotiating the CEO severance package.

Responsible for a £10M programme of energy efficiency advice to business and public sector organisations - administered by a team of 20 staff. Key achievements included: • Doubling the cost-effectiveness of delivered carbon-savings by increasing implementation of identified energy efficiency measures from 35% to 45% and reducing overheads 2. • Improved client satisfaction from 70 to 85% through the development of a diversified range of services tailored to needs 3. • Improved quality and delivery of reports through the introduction of incentive payments for consultants (average project duration fell by 30%).

Manager of the Sustainability Consultancy comprising 50 staff. Progressed through Consultant, Senior and Principal Consultant ultimately with responsibility for: • Business direction and development - the business grew turnover 50% in two years through development and delivery of my new business and marketing strategy. • Business marketing, I personally delivered £2M in fee income over 2 years through managed bids. • Financial performance and commercial management a loss making business was transformed to achieve a 10% profit on turnover. • Staff selection, management and training. • Managed or directed over 50 major projects to inform environmental policy for a range of clients including: UK government departments, agencies, international organisations and businesses. • Disciplines included projects on climate change and carbon mitigation, air pollution, environmental risk assessment and sustainable development. • Undertook two 18-month secondments as: Technical Adviser within the Department of the Environment managing the air pollution research programme; and as Air Pollution Policy Adviser to the Environment Agency.
