Chief Land Surveyor
CurrentAs the Chief Land Surveyor for the Forest Service, headquartered in Washington, DC,provides national leadership and program planning and direction, as well professional and technical assistance to the forest and regional level land surveying programs on National Forest System lands in the 44 states that have National Forest System lands. Works closely with the USDA Office of the General Counsel and the various U.S. Attorney's Offices supporting active litigation affecting NFS lands and title. Works with Congressional delegations, committees and subcommittees and Forest Service legislative affairs staff as requested to assist in the preparation of draft legislation and draft legislative maps. Serves as the national subject matter expert on land surveying and boundary descriptions.
