My role is to support the Fire Safety & Operations Manager within the NEOM communities. I am responsible for quality assuring the service providers fire teams and ensuring they meet the best standard. I also support the fire safety specialist in performing their roles, undertaking inspections, evacuation drills, work order creation and building consultation and sign off before occupancy.

My role is leading the Central Teams within Prevention and Protection for the London Fire Brigade. The teams I lead include all Youth and Educational Teams including Fire Cadets, the largest Fire Engineering Group in the UK Fire & Rescue Service, the Building Design & Consultation Hub, The Fire Investigation Team, the Transport Liaison Group, the Primary Authority Business Groups, the Petroleum & Alternative Fuels group, my teams also undertake all the fire risk assessments for all London Fire Brigade premises. We are a diverse group of technical and non-technical professionals from junior officers to chartered engineers. The work is fast pace and ensures that we keep the communities of London. I really enjoy the role and it is a pleasure to lead the teams.

For over 30 years I have been a firefighter at some of London's busiest fire stations including Southwark, Soho and Brixton. I have been a Station Manager in several departments and ran Wandsworth fire station for over four years before being promoted to the Borough Commander of Hounslow. My tenure ended in July 2017 when I was seconded then posted into the Grenfell Tower Investigation and Review Team (GTIRT) to lead a diverse group of firefighters and support staff to produce the Operational Response Report of the Grenfell Tower Major Incident. Once this was completed and having identified potential learning opportunities I moved into Operational Policy and Assurance to assist in the implementation of these learning opportunities. I have also taken on the role of an Operational Review Team(ORT) officer, assuring that the LFB is compliant with its own policies and procedures at incidents. I am the author of the latest Evacuation from residential high rise buildings policy. I’m currently working with the NFCC, Home Office snd the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) to deliver the National research into evacuation from high rise buildings. I have now been promoted to Deputy Assistant Commissioner within the Prevention & Protection Department, leading Crmtral Teams.

My role is to drive change in operational policy and operational guidance within the LFB. Utilising my knowledge from various major incidents I have attended and investigated.

My role is to lead a team of investigators to identify any best practice or areas of learning that will improve the public’s and firefighters safety following the tragic Grenfell Tower Fire.

Responsible for 56 staff over four watches. I have two pumping appliances and a specialist Operational Support Unit (OSU). I am responsible for the overseeing of staff welfare, training, support, health and safety and quality assure operational resilience. I see one of my key roles as supporting my four watch managers and eight crew managers to help them achieve their specific objectives. I am currently undertaking training in Fire Safety, Officer Of the Day duties (OOD) and Senior Accident Investigator (SAI).
