I designed and managed the construction of an 18,000 sf pre-engineered building for an equestrian training facility. This included an indoor arena, 15 stalls, wash rack, cross ties, tack room, feed room and associated fencing, panels package, site work, and a hay storage facility.

Originally hired as the Construction Superintendent for the South Mountain Mineral Mill Site. Shortly after my duties evolved to include micro and macro planning, procurement, conceptual estimating, budgeting, and permitting oversight for 5 properties in Idaho and Montana. The properties included underground gold mines, an open pit mineral sands mine and processing facility, and an underground base metals mine.

Field Superintendent for a growing commercial builder in the Boise, ID area.

Project Manager for an emerging design-build company in Boise, ID that completed highly technical design-build and hard-bid projects for both public and private clients including the US Army Corps of Engineers, US Fish & Wildlife Service, US Forrest Service, Idaho Power Co, and PacifiCorp Energy. Responsibilities include design process oversight, project constructability reviews, budget management, client relations, construction budget development, buyout, startup, field crew management, and project closeout.

Dyno Nobel - LoDan Storage Expansion Project. Supervised up to 40 craft employees for all phases of construction including underground utilities, earthwork, chemical resistant concrete, epoxy-coated steel erection, conveyor installation and modifications, and installation of aluminum siding and roofing panels. Other responsibilities included client relations, safety monitoring, scheduling, project budgeting, change management, and job cost analysis.Key Accomplishments:Completed this challenging project during the winter in Wyoming with 0 lost-time injuries.Managed subcontractors who were not familiar with an industrial setting and brought them through the project successfully.

Supervised the team responsible for securing repeat private client projects involving preconstruction support, estimating and competitive bidding with selected bidders and the overall management during construction. Customer base was focused on large retail box construction for such clients as Wal-Mart, Kroger and Shopko. Contract Values ranged from $100K to $14M and completed over $36M in contracts. Projects involved site development, new-store construction, structural retrofit, and open-store remodels. Key Accomplishments: Managed multiple locations throughout seven (7) western states and Alaska while maintaining high level of presence on the projects.

Village Plaza Phase II and the East Lodge at Osprey Meadows -- Tamarack Resort. Contract Value of combined projects $130 million.Responsible for the management of the project team of two separate construction projects, with site adjacencies, constructed simultaneously. Managed client relations and design control for the development and construction of: 1) Village Plaza - 350,000 sf of multi-use structures comprised of six separate buildings designed by two separate design firms inclusive of underground parking structure and village plaza and retail space. 2) East Lodge - 100,000 sf multi-use structure with 3 levels of underground parking structure. Oversaw preconstruction program on East Wing inclusive of all estimating services, design coordination, scope control, constructability reviews, purchasing strategy and buyout, scheduling coordination and overall budget control. Day to day responsibilities on both projects focused on coordination with the design teams, owner relations and negotiations, cost control, subcontractor coordination, strategic planning, risk mitigation, schedule coordination with numerous vendors, value engineering and overall contract management.Key Accomplishments:Managed 1400 drawing revisions and over 1000 RFI's while maintaining and exceeding the project schedule.Coordinated two separate design teams for one job which involved integration of design details to be used across all aspects of the work.Managed winter construction in Central Idaho including earthwork, storm water control measures, concrete, masonry and wood framing activities. Successfully managed the project through problems with owner cash-flow and financing that resulted from the Sub-Prime Market collapse. Final result was the protection of a $60M asset prior to the onset of the harsh winter climates of Central Idaho.

Managed 4 to 7 projects simultaneously during design and construction, including conceptual estimating to operations turnover. Project contract values ranged from $50,000 to $8,000,000 and owners varied from State Government, Municipal Government, Private Ownership to Fortune 500 Corporations. Day to day responsibilities included quantity take-off, estimate development, subcontractor coordination, schedule development, schedule management, proposal development for negotiated work, coordination with ownership for overall company direction and management, and participation on board for Health Insurance Plan and 401K Plan.
