Holding an LTA Level One Tennis Coaching Certificate, here my job consisted of working as a tennis coach at my local tennis club. I taught children ranging from 4 years old up to 18 years old in both basic and advanced tennis skills. Working with children can often be a challenge, so communication and inter-personal abilities were a key factor in succeeding in this job. Every day brought new situations, and this variety meant I always had to be on my guard, prepared to change my plans if unique circumstances dictated it.

Worked as both a waiter and a barman in a large banqueting suite comprising of three separate rooms. Job involved serving customers food and drink, taking orders, and generally presenting myself and the business in the best possible light, as some very important customers have been in attendance. I have performed silver service on various occasions, and my job also entailed working at outside functions, often in marquees in the gardens of affluent customers. This job taught me the importance of politeness, and of the need to be willing to help at all times. Having to work with many other staff from different areas of the business at any one time improved my communication and team-work skills, as well as the importance of time-keeping and efficiency in order that customers were not kept waiting at any stage.
