I've been teaching for more that 20 years. During that time, I've tutored individuals on basic skills, taught small classes preparing students to excel on standardized tests, and taught college classes on the undergraduate and graduate level. I've taught in person, via correspondence, and online. I've also served on advisory boards for online programs, taken part in curriculum design, reviewed majors for colleges, served on admission committees for graduate programs, and helped train new and experienced faculty.I have applied this varied experience to an equally varied array of writing tasks. Nonfiction Articles: I've written articles about online high school, award-winning adjuncts, the best graduate programs in different areas, my favorite teachers, and other topics.Course Design: I've designed courses for the University of Iowa, the University of Phoenix, and Post University.Course Writing: I worked with a subject matter expert to write a course on hotel management for FYI Online.Assignment Design: I've designed essay assignments and multiple choice questions for WiseWire, nSight, LearningMate, and others.Blogging: I've blogged on different aspects of education for Global Personalized Academics and The Adjunct Advocate.Study Guides: I've written study guides for KnowledgeNotes, Roth Publishing's online database LitfFinder, eNotes, and, most recently, Six Red Marbles/Course Hero.Textbook and Manuscript Review: I've reviewed article, book, and textbook manuscripts for Vernon Press, Career Education Corporation, University of Missouri Press, Longman Publishers, and the journal Science-Fiction Studies.Editing: I've edited writing samples to match reading levels, and courses designed by others. I've edited work intended for elementary school students, high school students, and college undergraduates.Essays: I've written essays on a range of authors, books, and topics, though most focus on genre fiction (science fiction, fantasy, horror, detective fiction, etc.)Reference Work Entries: I've written entries for a range of reference works. I am actively seeking freelance writing and editing positions related to education.
