My primary responsibility is the development of our test and measurement optical receiver products. In my position at Picometrix I lead a small, multidisciplinary team of engineers developing state of the art optical receivers and detectors. This includes overseeing optical, RF/microwave, electrical, and mechanical aspects of our designs. In addition to the technical oversight, I am also tasked with planning our product development projects and managing.

I’m the primary optical engineer in the high-speed optical receiver (HSOR) R&D group. My responsibilities include the development of the optical front-end for our receivers as well as technical manufacturing support. At NREL I worked in the National Center for Photovoltaic Development as part of the electro-optic characterization group. As a graduate researcher I was responsible for independently designing and evaluating different techniques for measuring minority-carrier lifetime in silicon solar cells. I was a summer intern at Translume for two consecutive summers. My primarily work was on an oil sensor that utilized microfluidic channels and optical waveguides that were monolithically integrated into a fused silica substrate. My tasks included:-PCB circuit design to drive the laser and detectors-Alignment of optoelectronic components to the fused silica.

EOT was my first job with hands on experience in the field of electro-optics. My primary responsibilities were the assembly and test of packaged photodetectors and quality control of components for faraday rotators. In this position I performed: soldering, die placement, wire bonding, fiber alignment, optical component testing, and documentation.
