In this role, I provided emotional and spiritual support to a diverse population of sick and dying hospital patients, their family members, and members of the medical team at a Level 1 Trauma Center in downtown Philadelphia. I was also engaged in a formal group-learning process (CPE) which helps me cultivate deeper self-awareness and critical decision-making skills so I could provide culturally humble and emotionally attuned spiritual care.

In this role, I supported undergraduate students through pastoral conversations about significant events or experiences playing out in their lives (e.g. stress, relationships, spirituality, identity development, loss and grief, family dynamics, etc.). I also helped foster the personal, communal, and spiritual growth of students by developing and leading various forms of Campus Ministry programming on campus.

In this role, I provided physical and emotional support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I established meaningful relationships with these individuals that were characterized by trust, appreciation, patience, and radical mutuality. Ultimately, I contributed to the ethos of living in an intentional community by means of sharing a home, sharing resources, making decisions cooperatively, participating in communal gatherings, and maintaining the cultural traditions of the home and community.

In this role, I provided critical emotional and spiritual care to patients, families, and staff members in crisis. I assessed the unique spiritual needs, hopes, and resources of patients during their hospitalization. In turn, I communicated vital information with other members of the care team (nurses, social workers, physicians) that would help foster deeper sensitivity to the patient’s needs and enable the care team to provide higher quality care for the patient. I was also cultivated a deeper self-awareness and gained theoretical knowledge about how to do interpersonal spiritual work in a clinical setting via participation in six hours of formal classroom learning (CPE) each week.

Portland, Oregon

In this role, I practiced intentional community living with my co-workers as well as individuals with disabilities. We shared basic resources (e.g. food, water, shelter, space), made cooperative decisions together, organized and attended communal gatherings, upheld community traditions, and supported / engaged with everyone in the community as equals.

Jackson, Wyoming

In this role, I answered questions that our visitors had about Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Lake Lodge, or the recreational activities offered by the lodge. I sold tickets for the various activities offered by the lodge (e.g. horseback riding, river float trips, etc.) and processed payments for these activities. I made guest reservations via the hotel’s reservation system and answered phone calls from guests or individuals interested in our activities.

Chaifetz Arena

In this role, I helped customers find the best possible seating for concerts/events being held at Chaifetz Arena. I facilitated the monetary transactions for ticket purchases. I also answered the office phone and any questions customers had about the arena or its events.
