Preserved groundwater protections. • Successfully worked in 2012 to pass New Mexico legislation to overhaul geothermal energy leasing.• Implemented lesser prairie chicken and dunes sagebrush lizard CCAA agreement with BLM.

Increased readership from 30 people per day to 3,000; created a free, e-mail subscription service; expanded coverage from one city to eight; and reduced staff and expenses. Extensive travel to Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua and Tamaulipas to develop stories, work with colleagues and present at conferences.
