I worked with a contractor while I went through the process of getting my Construction Supervisor license. I had worked renovating buildings before, during and after I graduated from college. In May of 2001 my wife and I decided that I would become a full-time father to our first new born baby.

I started in Operations and moved with my group to Actuarial, my group in Actuarial was combined with another group and I continued to do what I had been doing working with staff in Actuarial, Systems, Operations, Underwriting, Marketing, Accounting and Claims. My primary role was to work with Systems and Operations to solve reporting problems which were generally system processing issues and operational lapses. I worked with all the departments to rectify reporting issues. When Arbella had been in operations a few years I was involved in updating and creating new systems as the company was weaned off of the systems agreement it had with Kemper, the former insurers that stopped doing business in Massachusetts. Arbella was created out of a need for a smooth transition, for the general public and the State of Massachusetts, to transfer its policyholders to a new carrier with minimal disruption to the market. The main line of business was private passenger auto insurance, but we created a system that would also process commercial vehicles, homeowners, renters, boat, and liability insurance. Reporting the data to the State of Massachusetts was my primary goal and it brought me into contact with all the departments in the company and their processes. I was down sized in 1999.

Entry Level hire after temping in the operations department.C.A.R. is the reinsurer for automobile insurers in the State of Massachusetts.Service Clients, and help them solve problems they are experiencing reporting data to the State of Massachusetts. After working for C.A.R as a temp, they hired me to service their clients. After servicing their clients for a year, a contact at Arbella Mutual recommended me for a supervisory position at Arbella in their Operations Department to deal with C.A.R. reporting and reconciliation. They used my experience of how different functions at C.A.R. administered to their clients (The Insurance companies doing business in the State of Massachusetts) relating to data reporting and agency affiliations as well as statistical processing.
